Osage Orange is available again for the hobby bowyers

If you start to make your own bow it will be a great fun I guess. You'll find the wood in this category, sized and photographed each, one by one.

After a long break we can offer osage orange again for the hobby bow makers. We managed to get supplied by good wood, enough to sell half trunks to you. The quality is excellent: straight, no knots, not twisted.

Osage orange is native in America. To our country it was brought during the reign of Maria Theresia when the sericulture was started. The long rows of osage orange trees make a pretty good fence against the wild animals. It can be found now too at property borders. The crop is like an orange but a light green ball. Sliced, dried it is a decoration.

First the native americans used the wood to make bows. We make not only primitive selfbows from osage orange but also traditional longbows.

If you start to make your own bow it will be a great fun I guess. You'll find the wood in this category, sized and photographed each, one by one.

Goodluck!
