you have to pay a lot more for shipping something from Hungary to Poland than from Poland to Hungary. The European Union Committee ordered the survey after they recognized the online trading between the countries has remained under expectations. If you read the survey you will find that the shipping fee has nothing to do with the real cost, the pricing depends on many other things, eg. the relationship between post services and yes, there are remote areas like the Baltic, Croatia or Portugal. Another speciality of the national post services that they don't harmonize in every case the online tracking service. Or they stop to harmonize it. US Mail have functioned in this service quite well until October 2015 and then only once they stopped to give updates. So, we don't know where a letter is after it left Hungary. It can be delayed at US Customs because they X-Ray everything or can be just left but we can't get information. An inquiry can take even 6 months till we get the official response.
