12x 4-fletch horse archery arrows

If you are uncertain which spine to choose to your bow, buy a set little above as your bow draw weight. Ideal length is equal to your draw length  + 1” (2,5 cm).

Traditionally, the fletching consists of three matched half-feathers attached on the shaft that are equally spaced 120° degree intervals around its circumference. Four fletchings have also been used especially for target shooting.

Basically, 3 fletch arrows will increase an arrow’s speed since it only has 3 aerodynamic vanes that are necessary for such a purpose.

On the other hand, 4 fletch arrows can generate stability in flight, especially in windy weather. The extra weight of an arrow with 4 fletches increases the inertia of the arrow and provides a better trajectory in flight. This extra fletch comparing to better known 3 fletches can cause handling incomfort when hunting. Moreover, they may slow a bit an arrow’s speed as well.
