Description
The feature of the bow is its simplicity. It was the feared weapon of the archer infantrymen because of its range. Well-known from the Hundred Years War (1346. Battle of Crécy: 16,000 English won over 30,000 French) Traditional material of this bow is yew. Yew can be quite well replaced with osage orange that is easier to get supplied and cheaper.

- Osage Orange: it is native in North America and in the Carpathian Basin since the rule of Queen Mary Therese (18th century). In Europe this is the sole place to find this wood. Latin name: Maclura pomifera It is a middle high, deciduous, thorny tree. Its crop is similar to the orange, a wrinkled, yellowish green, hard, inedible ball. Osage orange is originated from North America.
