The Mongolian mounted army was characterised by loyalty, discipline, severity and quickness, the warfare by which Western people (German, Polish, Hungarian) were faced helplessly. The Mongols with a wide range of reconnaissance prepared battles, during the battle they signalled the tactic manoeuvres with flags.

One of the Mongols' main arms was the bow, their technical innovation was the steep horn and the string stool, which gave bigger dynamics to the arrow.
